As this website demonstrates, Partington Central Academy is committed to keeping abreast of technology whether it be to share information with local and wider communities or develop understanding within the classroom and wider school.
In addition to the school website, we have expanded our use of the internet to ensure that our children are able to further develop their learning away from the school environment.
Firstly, Key Stage One pupils are able to access a range of software produced by the 2Simple educational company through our school subscription to its online portal called Purple Mash. Pupils have an individual login which gives them access to their own online folder where work can can be saved to and completed at home or the library.
Pupils across the school are also able to practise their Spanish language skills through use of the school’s subscription to Language Nut – an online resource offering songs and games aimed at building children’s vocabulary, speaking and listening skills.
In addition, Key Stage Two have recently began accessing two new online learning resources that we expect to have a great impact upon learning across the school.
The first of these is a numeracy resources called Manga High which is home to a wide range of teaching tools to support understanding of key mathematical concepts backed up by a selection of interactive games designed to give pupils’ important practice. Teaching activities and game challenges can be set by teachers and accessed by pupils through their unique login which reports pupil progress back to teachers.
The second online resource used in Key Stage 2 is a social networking website called Edmodo which allows pupils to set up their own profile page and then use this to join learning groups set up by teachers. From these pages, pupils can:
